Join us for a convergence of great local organic food from the Farm, local beverages, live music (Blackbird and Sam Kunkle) auctions, games for kids, farm tours, and guest author, James Galvin - all for the benefit of northern Colorado land conservation!
CSA and Legacy Land Trust members sponsoring the picnic have much in common. We believe in enjoying and supporting high-quality locally grown food that supports the local economy.
Legacy Land Trust preserves some of the great local agricultural lands that grow our food. They also protect important wildlife habitat, natural areas, and beautiful scenery. The Legacy Land Trust Picnic is a great place for summer fun, to know the Farm better, and mix with other like-minded folks.
Legacy Land Trust is a membership-based local nonprofit land conservation group serving Larimer, Jackson and Weld counties. They have protected almost 40,000 of key landscapes in our area with a goal of protecting another 110,000 in the next ten years. You can help by investing $35 for a membership, or simply come on out to the picnic, have some fun, enjoy a superb organic and natural meal and meet new and old friends.
This year, Legacy Land Trust is being joined by author, James Galvin, ("The Meadow" and "Fencing the Sky") for special picnic fun.
Jim will read from his book that richly describes 100 years of the landscape of Sheep Creek around Eaton Reservoir, the weather and outdoor conditions, nature's flora and fauna, and some of the unique characters of that time and place. This will be a rare treat for all of us! Some of the tools described in the book made by Lyle Van Waning will be for sale as well.
Ticket donations levels are $20 for adults, $10 for teens, and kids 12 and under are free. Help us protect 150,000 acres of key landscapes by bringing family and friends!
This fundraising event for Legacy Land Trust will be held near the Farm north of Fort Collins. Directions are on the ticket.
Thanks to all our CSA members - we hope to see you at the Legacy Land Trust picnic on August 7th!
