Dear 2010 JustFaith Facilitators,
The Northern Colorado JustFaith Community is growing by leaps and bounds. This summer there is much JustFaith opportunity that you and your classes should know about before they retire for the summer. PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG TO CURRENT AND PAST JUSTFAITH FOLKS. In addition, Jack Jezreel will be in the Denver area to do one and possibly two workshops August 14 - 15 2010. St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch will be hosting a Saturday workshop. St. Luke's phone number is 303-791-0659.
Also, as some of you may know, JustFaith offers a 21-week program called Engaging Spirituality. Here is what their website has to say about it:
“JustFaith Ministries presents a spiritual deepening process that invites small groups of adult Christians to explore the intersection between contemplative presence and social action, as it is lived out in their own lives. Engaging Spirituality focuses on the practical challenges of following Jesus into the broken heart of our world, inspired by the urgency and spirit of the Gospel message to our lives, to our relationships, and to our times. Participants practice “the undivided life” of Christian discipleship—engaging in contemplation while immersing ourselves in the heart of our fragmented world.
Engaging Spirituality …
- is accessible and practical, inviting people to plumb their own depths.
- introduces seekers to a breadth of contemporary and ancient wisdom.
- moves us out to embrace current social realities from our hearts.
- seeks a “grounded spirituality” for contemplative-prophetic living today.”
Engaging Spirituality is designed to be led by two trained facilitators so JustFaith provides a 6-hour discernment and training “day” for prospective facilitators.
St. Andrew United Methodist Church is hosting this training on August 21, 2010 at 9:00 AM. There is a $25 honorarium.
